Introduction

The NCGSA Summer Internship Program, at Institute of Space Technology (IST), Islamabad is an annual, hands-on learning opportunity for students passionate about space science and technology. The program immerses participants in cutting-edge domains of Space Science and Technology, equipping them with essential skills and exposure to support their future careers in the space sector.

Internship Program 2026

The National Center of GIS & Space Applications (NCGSA), Institute of Space Technology, Islamabad, invites applications for the NCGSA Summer Internship Program 2026. This program is designed for motivated college and university students who are interested in gaining hands-on exposure to space science, space technology, geospatial applications, and research-based project development. The internship provides students with an opportunity to work in a professional academic and research environment under the supervision of experienced faculty members, researchers, and domain experts. Through this internship, participants will engage in practical tasks, domain-specific assignments, project-based learning, technical discussions, and report preparation. The program aims to strengthen students’ technical understanding, research skills, problem-solving ability, and professional confidence in the field of space science and its applications.

Internship Overview

To successfully complete the internship, participants must complete assigned domain-specific tasks, maintain regular attendance, and actively participate in technical activities and progress reviews.

Dates: July 6, 2026 – August 8, 2026
Duration: 6 – 8 weeks / 150 – 200 hours
Timings: 1000 hrs – 1500 hrs
Location: Institute of Space Technology, Islamabad
Mode: Hybrid
Eligibility: University and College students


Note: This is an unpaid internship program. Accommodation and transport will be the responsibility of the intern.
